  2. 2 cup Whole wheat flour
  3. as per taste Salt
  4. 1/4 tsp ajwain
  5. 1 tbsp ghee
  6. As needed Water
  7. Ingredients for dal
  8. 2 cup mix split
  9. 1/4 cup moong dal,
  10. 1/4 cup arhar dal,
  11. 1/4 cup split masoor dal,
  12. 1/4 cup split urad
  13. 1 tsp red chili powder
  14. 1/2 turmeric powder
  15. 1 tsp coriander powder
  16. As per taste Salt
  17. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  18. Pinch hing
  19. 1 chopped onion
  20. 2 chopped tomatoes
  21. 1 tsp ginger garlic
  22. 2 green chili chopped
  23. 1 lemon juice
  24. 4 tbsp ghee
  25. As needed Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  26. as required water

Instructions to make to make Dal bati

  1. Bati
  2. In a large bowl mix all the above bati ingredients well, except water. The mixture should look like breadcrumbs.
  3. Now add water slowly and knead the dough into a semi soft dough. Keep it aside covered for 1/2 hour.
  4. After half an hour, make round balls of equal size of the entire dough. Press each ball slightly from the middle and make it like small balls.
  5. Grease a baking tray with ghee and place each bati on it. Brush each bati with ghee.
  6. Preheat the oven at 180 deg and place the tray to bake for 30 minutes.
  7. They will take time to bake.Once the batis are baked from both sides to a nice brown colour, remove them from the oven.
  8. Take about 1/2 cup of ghee in a bowl, and soak each bati in the ghee for a few seconds, remove and place them in a serving dish.
  9. For dal
  10. Soak all the dals in about three cups of water for an hour. Boil the dals in cooker up to 3 whistles.
  11. Once done and mash them properly with the back of a round ladle.
  12. Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds, hing splutter.
  13. Now add onion saute until pink.
  14. Now add 1 tsp chopped ginger garlic and green chilli.
  15. Add tomatoes. Sauté till the ghee separates
  16. Add the cooked dals to this and mix well till it blends properly. Required water Allow to simmer for 5 mins.
  17. Switch off the flame and add juice of lemon and garnish with chopped green coriander.
  18. Finally, serve dal bati along with churma,slices of onion and chilli.
