It is a gluten-free recipe for weight watchers. I baked them in a gas tandoor till they were crisp from outside and soft from inside. I didn't dip them in ghee , but they taste much better when dipped in ghee.

Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Jowar Baati, Panchmel Dal & Churma:

  1. Jowar Baati
  2. 2 cups jowar
  3. 1/4 cup kuttu ka aata
  4. as per taste Salt
  5. 1 tsp carrom seeds
  6. 1 tsp baking powder
  7. 4 tbsp ghee
  8. 1 1/4 cup warm water
  9. Panchmel Dal
  10. 1 tbsp tur dal
  11. 1 tbsp chana dal
  12. 1 tbsp masoor dal
  13. 1 tbsp moong dal
  14. 1 tbsp urad dal
  15. 1 tsp turmeric
  16. to taste salt
  17. 1 onion
  18. 1 tomato
  19. 4-5 garlic pods
  20. 1 tbsp oil
  21. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  22. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  23. 1 tsp hing
  24. 2 dry red chillies
  25. Churma
  26. 5 baati
  27. 3/4 cup bura(powdered sugar)
  28. as required Mixed dry-fruits

Instructions to make to make Jowar Baati, Panchmel Dal & Churma

  1. To prepare the baatis, mix jowar aata, kuttu aata, salt, carrom seeds,baking powder, ghee and knead with warm water. Keep aside to rest the dough for 10 min.
  2. Make balls of same size and heat it on a gas tandoor or in oven at 180 degree Celsius for 15-20 mins flipping in between.
  3. Dip them in ghee and serve.
  4. For Panchmel dal, mix together all the dal and wash, soak well for 15 min.
    Put the dal along with chopped tomatoes and onion, salt and turmeric and cook till 3 whistles. Let the pressure drop to room temperature.
  5. For the tempering, heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies, hing and dry red chilli and temper it over the prepared dal. The Panchmel dal is ready to be served with baati.
  6. For Churma, break 4 to 5 baati to smaller pieces. Put them in a grinder and grind to make a granulated mixture. Add bura and mixed dry-fruits. Serve them with dal and baati.
